Almost ready to order, maybee

I am about ready to order the sherline motor mount kit PN 6700 for the cnc upgrade. I have been reading irritatedvowel.com and they seem to have a good upgrade, and a really good web page. Doing some searches around from info on his site I came across links to http://www.linuxcnc.org
which sounds very cool. It is developed from a public domain program developed by NIST. I have only just started reading about it but it would be really cool if it can handle STL files!
