Little Going On

Very little going on here for a while. Have been very busy with work and another project. The goat shed. Looks like it is done. I hope. The goats moved in over the weekend.

Did a bit of reading on home built cnc's and cam programs. Looked at Kcam and Deskproto. Downloaded the trial software, Kcam has a 60 day shareware trial, and deskproto has a 30 day trial period. Both offer full function in the trial versions.

Computersculpture.com sells deskproto for $1200
it is a bit on the expensive side for me to buy for my basement shop.

5 axis cnc

Started researching 5 axis machines.

Some links that are somewhat interesting though not exactly what I was looking for:

Australian company that sells a large gantry 5 axis. Perfect if you want to make a boat hull.
http://www.mouldcam.com

Haas for machining metal parts.

Millport company, never heard of them. They have a 5 axis arrangement that really does not look at that solid compared to other systems I have seen. But it appears they use it mostly for engine porting where it might be just fine.

Millport has training videos on their site which is a nice thing.
